Lounge area

One of the first things you will notice when walking into the lounge is a circular sofa, with eleven uniquely-designed compartments. Different textures, fabrics and colors have been used to create a focal point in the room, which will likely initiate conversation when guests visit the property. Modular sofas also feature in a seating area positioned in front of a large television, and cushions of different sizes and shape adjourn the sofa, which lie in bold contrast to the industrial feel of the rest of the room. However, these elements were already present in the property before the apartment was renovated – the concrete ceiling and wooden floor were discovered by accident when a 200-pound metal door was removed. Contemporary canvas art brightens up the far wall, adding a splash of color and style to the apartment, while mirrors line the ceilings, helping to create a feeling of more space.

Dining area

One of the most impressive features of the apartment is the dining table, which has been renovated and then mounted onto a rough oak worktop. In fact, many interior design elements were made according to the original sketches of the designer. The original objective was to create a unique space with an unusual atmosphere, with many echoes of the classic style of the famous motorcycle brand Harley Davidson. The dining area is a warm and welcoming space ideal for entertaining guests.

Other elements

Other design elements in the home include an original Harley Davidson motorcycle, a gramophone, and two contemporary chandeliers which illuminate the oak table. The kitchen metal worktop has been constructed onto carved food which spells out “eat”, with two wooden chairs on either side. This space is ideal when eating breakfast or grabbing a quick meal. In the bathroom, plenty of gold has been used, whilst floral prints and rustic charm are the design styles used in the bedroom. Contemporary framed art adjourn the hallway walls, which still contain many original elements of the building. As there is no natural light in these hallways, spotlights are used to illuminate the space.

Looking at this huge, honest-looking industrial loft with the old walls of rough brick, cracked wood beams, rusty mechanisms and flaky creaking doors, instantly forgetting that it is located on the top floor of a modern business center, and more recently was a new, blank and impersonal space.

The idea of converting  an empty floor of an apartment buildingto a loft was brought by a customer, and Leo Lugovskoy was happy to help, skillfully transforming a bare concrete space into a lively industrial interior. Good thing, he had plenty of space to work with: the area of the space is 130 sq meters and the ceiling height is 4.2 meters.

The master room all was imagined as a bachelor pad, along with a host experiencing a midlife crisis!

says the architect. Such description says that the customer is okay with humor and irony. In addition, he is an intellectual, lover of music and reading; so the main areas of the loft became a music library and a living room.

A special pride of the architect is the texture of the walls, beams, decking. The effect of the old shabby, “seasoned” surfaces appeared thanks to the artists studio Gregory Protasov.

The effect they have created is so natural

that people, once here, always asked me the same question: Why did you not paint the wall? Did you need to leave the wall to rust and with old paint ?

And that is the main evidence that the decorative component turned out to be very natural.

Equally convincing is the window, with a typical industrial look, old handles and a beautiful arched masonry of old bricks. Many of the objects and ideas in our interior were produced a long time ago – says the architect. We were hunting for them in stores, waiting for weeks of inspiration and joining solutions, dug antique shops in search of the object corresponding to the time and place.

For all his scrapes and authenticity of an old-fashioned loft, it is packed with modern technology: lighting equipment for organ concerts, high-tech sound system for high-quality audio playback and video projection installation to accompany private concerts.

The curtains and the marble floor have floral motives; the purple armchair with its interesting silver edge takes us back in the past. The bathroom in its blackness has very modern tiles and a floral motif that reminds me the floral motives of the Arabian 1001 Nights. A black and white environment provides black and white furniture, without being too much.

I feel the bedroom a bit too much, though…

Every room has a certain charm and uniqueness that makes you appreciate every little object belonging to this space, no matter it is an elegant piece of furniture, an art object, a purple vase or wallpaper. A few words are not enough, but capture the essence: luxury, elegance, style, modernity, glamour.

The general black and white atmosphere is completed by grey shades, without being boring. In a wide- open environment, every little thing is simple and modern at the same time. No matter it is a living room, a bedroom or an office space, everything is very modern, even futuristic. The presence of glass ensures transparency, while the modern furniture pieces are in harmony with the environment.

The whiteness of the environment is in perfect contrast with the black spots, providing an elegant air that is intriguing in its perfection. This futuristic ambient with all sorts of modern devices, with elegant curtains that give personality to the rooms, with modern lamps of different shapes, with modern furniture of the highest quality ensures comfort and self-confidence. Such spaces are for a well-defined category of people, those who can afford what seems to be the definition of luxury. Designed by Geometrix, they are the best proof that dreams come true; the smart examples in the pictures stand for the concept of ideal place.

Located in Moscow, Russia, the 1,400 square foot apartment has two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a kitchen that James Bond would be proud of with its sliding table/bar counter controlled by a remote!

Weâ€ve set a goal to organize the light modern interior which combine convenience, aesthetic qualities and functionality of space.

Say the designers. The foundation of delivered tasks was chosen as far back to the planning stage. Weâ€ve set up the direction, “the movement vector” which interlay the way logically through all the apartmentâ€s zones, with the help of interesting wall architecture.

Through the entrance lobby we get into the large sitting-room, where with the help of extendable glass partitions the kitchen area is detached. This decision determines the prescription of every zone logically, but at the same time doesnâ€t overload the space and makes it unique, light and airy.

The main emphasis in the interior is focused on the home theater zone. This is not only the necessary part of the sitting-room but also the complete art-object. The switched off TV panel “ad notam” becomes the invisible part of big black glass panel with the all round embedded light-emitting diodes (LEDs). The construction arrests sight and its prescription astonishes. And in this case the idea aesthetics doesnâ€t pinch the functional purpose: we mean, the space for keeping CD and books on each side. Under the glass there is the commode with drawers, and all the construction continued straight to the ceiling in the form of lustrous panels with the built-in luminaires (lamps). The luminous decisions wide choice makes the interior change according to mood preferences.

The couple has quite awesome works like the Fantasy Island interior that mimics the world of James Bond, or the interior of Russia’s most robably most expensive penthouse, on top of the Triumph Palace in Moscow.

This penthouse is full of strong lines and sharp angles so you cut yourself just by looking at them. Light halos, combined with black-on-white accents with these stark geometric forms shape interesting spaces.

Sure you might see a splash of blue light, or a hardwood floor here and there, but it all serves as contrast to the cool blacks, whites and marble grays that fill each room – even traditionally warm spaces like the master bathroom below.

In the home office, some – exceptional – curves again defy the angles and corners of the room while wall mounted shelves provide depth and visual interest.

The bedroom is barely spared either with brown hardwoods below the bed and pillows, sheets and blankets that thankfully are not forced to march as rigidly as their surroundings.

Imagine a house designed by Zaha Hadid… then imagine a house designed by Zaha Hadid set in the lush vegetation with its own pool and Turkish baths – then you have Capital Hill Residence. This private villa is situated on the north-face hillside of Barvikha, a luxury village west of Moscow. The area is dotted with luxury dachas and covered by rich vegetation of pine and birch trees that typically grow up to 20m high.

The villa is built with pre-cast and in-situ cast concrete, steel and glass. It has Hadid’s characteristic fluid design and is divided into two main components: the first one nicely merges with the sloped landscape, while the second is a separate volume floating 22 meters above the ground to benefit from the stunning views of the Barvikha forest over the trees.

The residence is divided into four levels. The lower level or basement is dedicated to leisure space and will include a living room, massage and fitness areas as well as sauna and hamman (Turkish) baths. The ground floor will host the living room, dining, kitchen, entertainment, indoor swimming room and parking spaces. The main entrance lobby, study/library, guest room and childrenâ€s room are distributed on the first floor while the master bedrooms and a lounge with exterior terrace occupy the upper level.

The two main components of the house are connected by three concrete columns that establish a strong dialogue between the two volumes and function as structural elements: within the interior space of the columns are the vertical shafts required to place all mechanical elements and services connecting to the upper level. Incorporated within the space between the columns is the vertical circulation of the house where a transparent glass elevator and staircase are situated, providing a direct connection between the lower and the upper levels.

On the first floor the main entrance holds three concrete columns which intersect the main roof. Skylights and a double-high space are created. The view from the living room, following the grand staircase located in the entrance lobby, is framed by two curved in-situ cast concrete structures. These concrete structures serve both a structural purpose and the function purpose creating of the divisions between main living room, dining room and indoor swimming pool.

The project is expected to complete in 2010 – you can see it as it currently is on the map below (good idea to look around to see whatever else the Russian nouveau riche building there).
