ship – Loftenberg https://www.loftenberg.com Stunning interiors Wed, 14 Nov 2012 22:53:02 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=7.0.4 Thesayboat https://www.loftenberg.com/thesayboat/ https://www.loftenberg.com/thesayboat/#respond Wed, 14 Nov 2012 22:52:56 +0000 https://www.loftenberg.com/?p=8702 Houseboat conversions are getting more frequent around here, but a completely new build is quite rare: Thesayboat houseboat is owned and designed by Marek Ridky of the Czech Republic. A fashionable exterior features rounded edges and smooth teak sides and deck outlined with shiny metal hardware and a classy splash of red on the underside. Generously sized rooms and modern details throughout, this is not your typical nautical experience.

The living space is on the main floor with a fireplace, many windows that let in lots of light, and fully functioning – and fully-sized – kitchen. Beautiful hard wood floors stream throughout. A metal staircase with glass banister contribute to the roomy feeling as well. Upstairs, the bedroom offers spectacular views with the all around windows and delightful upper deck with jacuzzi. The most surprising corner of this houseboat is the bathroom, unusually spacious for a houseboat, especially with the provided luxurious fixtures.

Designed as a house for two or a place for a weekend getaway, the boat floats on a steel pontoon and has all of the comforts any home would ever need.

The open metal staircase and upstairs glass bannister give the space a loft-like feeling

The boat is 1-1/2 floors, with the bottom one housing the living room, kitchen, bathroom, and closet while the upper part contains the enclosed bedroom. There is a deck right off the bedroom with a jacuzzi.

Houseboat on the Eilbek Canal https://www.loftenberg.com/houseboat-eilbek-canal/ https://www.loftenberg.com/houseboat-eilbek-canal/#respond Thu, 05 Jul 2012 20:50:44 +0000 https://www.loftenberg.com/?p=7329 German design office sprenger von der lippe, has recently completed the ‘houseboat on the eilbek canal’, a floating residence  situated between two bridges along a waterway in Hamburg, Germany.

With the moorings positioned significantly lower  than street level and the sloped banks lined with natural vegetation, this dwelling offers an introverted experience for inhabitants within the quiet and secluded area. the floor at the water’s surface contains the private bedrooms, offering privacy with the inherent landforms along with a living room which overlooks the gently rippling water. the upper level contains the public spaces which offers elevated views of the scenery from the kitchen and dining area.

Living on a Barge https://www.loftenberg.com/living-on-a-barge/ https://www.loftenberg.com/living-on-a-barge/#respond Sat, 04 Feb 2012 15:27:45 +0000 https://www.loftenberg.com/?p=5850 The possibility of a unique dream home with water as its nearest neighbor. Argo was built in 1909 to run on the canal until 1956 when she was converted. Many years later she was bought privately and after extensive renovations created a floating luxury apartment for both permanent living and recreational facilities.

Take an evening swim when you get home from work and sit and look out over the water from the terrace at the top during dinner. Two large patios fit for this unique houseboat with the possibility of permanent residents. Entrée accommodate site-built sofa and hallway with coat hangers. Furthermore, you can reach the master bedroom with adjoining walk-in closet with small sky-light, and sliding door. Adjacent to the bedroom, luxury bathroom with space built in teak tub, double sinks, separate shower and wall-hung toilet and heated towel rail. The guest toilet is decorated with stained glass and teak.

An additional bedroom with space built bunk bed with a small walk-in closet that can easily be converted into the toilet (wired). Plenty of windows, notade ekplankgolv and bright colors. A staircase leads up to the wheelhouse, which is a large open room. Windows overlooking 360 degrees and doors to exit to the upper deck. Downstairs, we find a large and open kitchen to living room that gives an incredible feeling to four feet in height, its glass ceiling and fireplace. You can sit large parties under a starry sky. Opportunity to acquire a unique accommodation with fabulous views in the city center.

If your big dream is to live aboard a boat, and if you are not afraid of huge heating bills, this one is currently offered at nearly $800,000.

Waterfront Beauty https://www.loftenberg.com/waterfront-beauty/ https://www.loftenberg.com/waterfront-beauty/#respond Sat, 30 Apr 2011 10:24:00 +0000 Can you believe these stunning interiors once transported cars across a Copenhagen waterway? I know, I couldn’t believe it either. Danish architect Nils Jeppe Hansen transformed this ferryboat into the offices for his design firm, DSA ARK Studio. Hansen kept the boat’s original structure intact and added a sculptural zinc box with a row of skylights on either side and solar panels on the roof. I think it’s a unique concept. I’m smitten by all these design studios that are revolutionizing the house boat image and creating sophisticated floating habitats like this one. I’m sure this boat is glad to have put its transporting days behind it to enjoy a new serene and stylish life on waterfront.

Unique Water House in Amsterdam https://www.loftenberg.com/unique-water-house-in-amsterdam/ https://www.loftenberg.com/unique-water-house-in-amsterdam/#respond Wed, 12 Jan 2011 18:19:54 +0000 There is nothing new in having water houses, as these kind of houses have always been popular, especially in the places where there is a lot of water like on the river banks or on the seashore. Netherlands is one of the countries where people prefer living in such buildings because most of the country territory is below the sea level and they only have land because they built strong dams. But they are always in danger of having their land invaded by water, so they ‘d rather be cautious when building their homes.

Any way, the most usual water house is on the boat, a floating boat or maybe a wooden house built on some wooden poles that turns into a floating house when the water level is high. But this kind of house can now be very modern and nice looking because architects were inspired and wanted to bring some style into this kind of house, too. The best example is this unique water house that is located in Amsterdam, the famous city that is built mostly on water.

The architects (+31 Architects) gave up the traditional material and used aluminum instead of wood. It is lightweight as well, but it is a bit more glamorous and shiny and also modern. The interior walls are plastered with white plastic and you can find only modern furniture in there. The house opens on Amstel River and you can go out on the terrace and even on the shore through the wide sliding glass doors.

You will find all the necessary rooms in the two stories of the building and you will notice that the rooms are full of light thanks to the big windows and wide skylights. This is  a  new way of taking and old way of living.
