Denver Flour Mill Loft by Robb Studio https://www.loftenberg.com/denver-flour-mill-loft/ https://www.loftenberg.com/denver-flour-mill-loft/#respond Fri, 15 Jan 2016 16:30:07 +0000 https://www.loftenberg.com/?p=9897 An old flour mill was converted into a fascinating industrial style loft by architect Robb Studio in conjunction with Studio Gild, located in Denver, Colorado. The building was built in the 1920s, dilapidated and abandoned, the building was repurposed in 2000, converted into lofts. Originally the client who owns this Denver Flour Mill Loft was just looking to make a few updates on their 3,000 square foot home, such as cabinet hardware and an enhanced connection with the laundry and guest bath.

Yet, in the end, made the decision to give the loft a complete modern transformation, creating a striking visual aesthetic with open spaces for entertaining that the homeowners could enjoy for years to come. Greater functionality, clean lines and an enhanced material palette are just some of the details that were improved.

The fireplace is located at the original chimney stack of the building. Robb Studio created a sculptural fireplace using exposed concrete, steel, and Shou-sugi-ban wood for the hearth seat.
