The plot takes the form of an irregular polygon of four sides, and covers an area of 2.840m2 with North-South orientation. The plot is developed on two floors, above ground and below ground.

At the entrance of the house, we have a hall access via a lift in which highlights the glass railing offering a sober and clean aesthetic appearance. Thanks to this distribution and the use of these elements the natural light penetrates through the yard.

LIVING ROOM

Spacious room in which has been designed a large window that brings freshness and breadth to the room. The decorative elements are distributed from the reddish-brown to beige to complement the paintings of the artist Mercedes Rodriguez, helping to make a distinctive note, creating a hybrid between the tones.

It can be seen as light in limelight at the center of the room provides some privacy for its indirect character.

DINING-ROOM

We move toward the most public area of the house where the dining room is located, surrounded by paintings by Mercedes Rodriguez, and supplemented below by the Capri console. These establish a division of the room into two parts and also provide strength and dynamism to the environment.

The table, with clear glass on CAPRI model with steel high brightness from A-cero In, brings serenity to the room. The carpet, that combines with sand and red tones of the painting, achieves the balance of the room.

KITCHEN

Designed by A-cero to MOBALCO, it is important to highligh  theuse of straight lines and its interesting conjugation made of sand tones with white. The ceiling lit with halogen contributes to a clean and clear enviroment.

Loft of Frank and Amy https://www.loftenberg.com/loft-frank-amy/ https://www.loftenberg.com/loft-frank-amy/#respond Sun, 08 Jul 2012 17:54:02 +0000 https://www.loftenberg.com/?p=7390 Designed for an art critic and film editor by Robert Luntz, Joseph Tanney for Resolution: 4 Architecture, the loft of Frank and Amy is a bare, wide-open play space in New York City Gritty Hells kitchen. Located in a former industrial building, the loft occupies an entire floor with full window exposure and dynamic urban view on three sides. The design enhances this industrial context by considering new construction as a single sculptural intervention within this existing place.

This intervention is a dense complex box that contain the kitchen, mechanical and secondary space; it divides the public and private area of the loft.

A primary feature of the box is a series of huge sliding doors that can open the entire perimeter of the loft of that can extend the exterior walls to close off bedroom.

This way you can arrange it any way you want: if you need more space simply use these doors and you will have more space. If, on the contrary, you want some privacy and want to divide it, fine – do that. You only use the limits when you feel the need to, which is great. The whole loft has hard floors, covered with big tiles or big stone plates, something that makes it a bit too cold to my taste. But if you use it for a painting workshop or something similar, then you have a reasonable point.

All the furniture is modern and very functional, with futuristic design and no trace of wood unless intended to be used as decoration like covering the door of some device. The ceiling is pretty high, so they use some big and powerful ceiling lamps that are pretty unique in style and bring an extra touch to the general design of the apartment.

Unique Loft Design in New York https://www.loftenberg.com/unique-loft-design-in-new-york/ https://www.loftenberg.com/unique-loft-design-in-new-york/#comments Wed, 15 Feb 2012 10:44:55 +0000 https://www.loftenberg.com/?guid=04c13ad8231a93a5d35c1d9622269451 Designed by architect Michael Haverland this unique loft interior design in New York incorporates all the right ingredients for a modern, yet comfortable industrial style. Wood, concrete, glass, metal, massive factory style windows, tall ceilings, open plan, major space … sublime, right? The staircase makes quite a statement and the colorful fixtures and furniture really brighten things up. That smooth white tub which sits in the rough grey concrete is really stunning – the walnut shelves generate some warmth to create the perfect mood.

Capps Loft – Industrial in White https://www.loftenberg.com/capps-loft-industrial-in-white/ https://www.loftenberg.com/capps-loft-industrial-in-white/#respond Sun, 25 Sep 2011 07:38:10 +0000 https://www.loftenberg.com/?guid=34a9f5074010c02387a0fbc08ba62fd8 Designed for a young executive whose love of contemporary art and minimal environments led the architects to create this light filled space.  The existing envelope of this richly textured warehouse space was painted “gallery” white from floor to ceiling.  On the ground level, an island kitchen with suspended cabinetry slips into a corner of the open entry / entertainment area.  Overlooking this, is an office mezzanine and a steel +  wood stairway which leads to the second floor.  Entering the upper level is the open living area with an alcove guest bedroom, the owners private quarters, and acid yellow spiral stairs which leads to a private roof top deck.

A perfect backdrop for displaying art pieces, this industrial loft design in white is like a breath of fresh air. Industrial style interiors can sometimes be a bit harsh with all those sharp lines and edges, but this white space is a good example of how white and light play important roles in making industrial style gentle. The ceilings and skylights are utterly amazing, the furniture is super streamlined, minimal and clean, and both the staircases are just divine. One emphasizes horizontal stress with its railing design and the other plays up vertical stress with it spiral shape without taking up too much visual space. The yellow color of the spiral staircase is a nice surprise too.

This home, called Capps loft was designed by Poteet Architects.

Yaletown loft https://www.loftenberg.com/yaletown-loft/ https://www.loftenberg.com/yaletown-loft/#respond Mon, 11 Apr 2011 19:53:09 +0000 https://www.loftenberg.com/?p=3403 Designed by Kelly Reynolds for a bachelor client, this 1921 warehouse located in Vancouver’s Yaletown district was converted to condo lofts in 1996. Renovated in 2009, Reynolds worked with the client and brought back that original warehouse feel but with some big city polish to it.

The original plan was a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom standard condo configuration, early 1990`s style with little thought to how people actually live. With this plan every wall came down nand the loft was converted into a one bedroom with 2 bathrooms. The warehouse feel was then resurrected with large living spaces original brick exposed and unfinished formed concrete as a feature wall.

Light was now able to penetrate most of the new floor plan through the large 9 ft windows. Even though this home was built with a single guy in mind, a lot of thought was given to providing the owner with healthy living environment.

Whether it´s the Bio fuel fireplace the natural fibers used in all the upholstery or the home being on a timer and controlled by the owners I Phone.

Bolko Loft https://www.loftenberg.com/bolko-loft/ https://www.loftenberg.com/bolko-loft/#respond Sat, 02 Apr 2011 20:56:13 +0000 https://www.loftenberg.com/?p=3245 This is not your typical city loft: out in Silesia, Poland, next to crumbling red-brick houses, located near a former mine’s shaft. Sounds gray and gloomy.

Designed by Przemo Lukasik of the architectural office Medusa Group architects, this loft is an example of – still rare in Silesia – adaptation of industrial architecture. After extraction was discontinued at Zaklady Gorniczo – Hutnicze “Orzel Bialy” (a mining and steelworks complex) in Bytom, the lamp room and time clock room were scheduled for demolition. Suspended on eight reinforced-concrete pillars, derelict and half-disintegrated. Its unique location, interesting form and adequate area made the architect think about it as a future home.

Mr Lukasik decided to sand and paint the existing steel structure, juxtaposing it with the ceiling where the concrete was exposed after other layers were removed. The colour scheme of the interior and of the elevation was intended to fit well into the typical spectrum of grayish tones used in heavy industry, with deliberate avoidance of the popular silver. It is only the new-built parts – the toilette and dressing room – that has been accentuated with some red.

Interventions are minimal inside and out, but the project is notable for reusing something so atypical and unique in and of itself. The architect’s ability to see the inherent qualities in something not immediately appealing helped save an industrial artifact and create a unique home for the architect and his family.

The two sides, along the lower loft rooms – open with sliding doors. There are numbers and graphics depicting the role of the room. In the eyes immediately throws one thing.

For many people, the concept to live in an unusual, almost abandoned place is strange. Where is the house with a garden? Where is the red tile on a sloping roof of a terraced house? Unthinkable. And I like it. A lot.

Stunning New York Bachelor Pad https://www.loftenberg.com/stunning-new-york-bachelor-pad/ https://www.loftenberg.com/stunning-new-york-bachelor-pad/#respond Thu, 17 Mar 2011 18:04:43 +0000 Designed by Mesh Architectures, Steve Burns’ new Brooklyn residence is a 2,100-square-foot bachelor pad created for the enjoyment of the resident and his guests. The former host of the children’s show “Blue’s Clues” wanted to live in an open space, suited for his new found love: music. By keeping only three brick walls of the existing structure, the architect created a modern space with amazing features, like the catwalk on the second floor. The main rooms of the house – master bedroom, bathroom and living room/kitchen – all have access to the private courtyard with a deck created from salvaged Coney Island planks. The converted garage became an amazing house with the help of Eric Liftin at Mesh Architectures, known for repurposing old materials. The interior courtyard was cut into the shape of the structure in order to beneficiate from fresh, open air without breaking the zoning regulations.

Expressive Vacation House https://www.loftenberg.com/expressive-vacation-house/ https://www.loftenberg.com/expressive-vacation-house/#respond Sat, 12 Feb 2011 21:48:37 +0000 The surprising Ribbon Vacation House is located in San Carlos de Bariloche, Argentina. Designed by Argentinean architects G2 Estudio, the residence is the vacation destination for two Tahitian families who wanted to be able to spend their free time together in a wonderful setting.

The house is a large, relaxing common space that makes the inhabitants feel at home every time they visit. Built on an area of 4,300 square feet, and having a usable surface of 396sqm, the Ribbon Vacation House accomplishes every need of the families, from ample relaxation spaces to extremely beautiful panoramas enjoyed by each member. The juxtaposition of volumes that compose the structure of the house allows the space to be divided into different spaces with different functions. Avoiding damage from earthquakes, the architects decided to reinforce the building with a concrete support system. The rustic stone and steel-frame of the outer volumes create a sensational look. The architects consider that: “With Ribbon House G2 Estudio close a small cycle of evolution in the search for housing types, and launches into new spaces for these architectural exploration, arguing that every expression of architecture should be unique and unrepeatable as the users are.”
