Gallery Loft https://www.loftenberg.com/gallery-loft/ https://www.loftenberg.com/gallery-loft/#respond Fri, 13 Jan 2012 20:27:06 +0000 https://www.loftenberg.com/?guid=f171d9015a47bb2ab15461b226bb07f6 Looking at these images you’d think you were in an art gallery, museum or some sort of showroom – but it’s a loft, a loft with an unusual style, where someone lives. That someone happens to be Mitch Alfus of Libra Leather – one of the most important leather suppliers around. The space is open and grand and packed with amazing finds. The interior style suggests a bold character – no secrets, everything-on-display kind of vibe. The dining room is by far the star of the show. The table is exceptionally long, pretty low and surrounded by a beautiful long bench adorned with furs on one side and some metal government aircraft cases on the other to be used as seating. Another fun thing to notice is all the eclectic lamps and light fixtures.

Goin’ to the chapel… https://www.loftenberg.com/goin-to-the-chapel/ https://www.loftenberg.com/goin-to-the-chapel/#comments Fri, 23 Sep 2011 21:58:37 +0000 https://www.loftenberg.com/?guid=2e42227ca39ff3c6930f57b24fe16336 Well maybe not to get married. At least in not this deconsecrated and now renovated little brick chapel in West Hobart, Tasmania. This sturdy early 1900’s building has been transformed with a contemporary warehouse vibe but the chapel shell remains as does the simple utilitarian feel. It was plain and functional in the praise of the Lord when it was a church and now it is minimal and functional in the service of the owners.
