Loft Parisien

When buying this former printing press installed in a passage of the 20th district in Paris, Roxane Beis thought to Greece. Not that the place with its tall windows have been predisposed to it, but the origins of the young designer did fit well here finally. Of course, the single room on the first floor is very big but, the only furnishing in his party lounge, a sofa and oversized white armchairs, as they accentuate the brightness and spaciousness of the space.

The coffee table, made of railroad ties mounted on small wheels, was made by the blacksmith and designer Jean-Bernard Navier, as the metal bracket above the sofa on which the lamp is suspended. Sofa and armchairs are from the Conran Shop, candle holders Puech Alice in White Spirit.

Other references to Greece: the furniture of the kitchen concrete masonry that Roxane has designed. It has the sinks integrated in a very simple central block that has a storage unit and doubles as a worktop. It fits elegantly into the room because it fits the tones and repeats the lines, like the shelves that run under the windows.

Under the sink, the cupboard is simply closed with a curtain made of old rugs (chips of Montreuil). Faucets are from KWC, the sink is from Franke, ceramic tableware from White Spirit.

Carefully Mix styles
The wooden table is surrounded by a collection of mismatched chairs , selected white or aluminum for the unity and smoothness. The owner wanted them contemporary, but they are also a timeless classic because they are all (or almost) design icons.

From left to right: the standard chair Jean Prouvé (Vitra in Sentou), chair of antique painted (white spirit), the Panton Verner Panton (Vitra at the Conran Shop), chair of the Striped Bouroullec (Magis in Sentou) opposite, the 1006 Navy chair (Emeco at Conran Shop), table made by Jean-Bernard Navier large mirror Serge Lamouroux , mud and black ceramic dish and Nelson Sepulveda at White Spirit applied IGuzzini, suspending the 50 mottled.

Between the two floors, narrow stairs are built. Flush steps, square patches embedded in the wall, as are breakthroughs that let the sun shine. And, nicely hidden behind a curtain in fine linen, even the laundry room is well lit by spotlights.

The white room
With white, everything seems softer, simpler and more relaxing and you feel as protected in a bubble. The polished concrete floors, the white walls further accentuate this feeling. The chair was found on a flea market. At right, the library is housed in a corner, with the books housed on thick planks of bleached pine.
